Transferring personal information

We may process, store and transfer your personal information in and to another jurisdiction with different privacy laws. Where we do, our service providers are required to maintain privacy standards consistent with Canadian legislation.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your device through your web browser. We use cookies for website functionality, to improve our services, to recognize you on return visits, to speed up login, to track activity, to personalize advertising and to support secure browsing. You can modify your browser settings to block cookies.

We also use clear GIFs / pixels and log files to track usage and compile statistics, and third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics to evaluate usage and improve our services. Our websites do not respond to “do-not-track” signals. On mobile applications, you can opt out through your device settings.

Advertising

Third-party partners may present ads based on your previous interactions with our websites. IP addresses and device identifiers may be used for cross-device targeting and personalized content. You can opt out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada, the Network Advertising Initiative and the Digital Advertising Alliance.

Security

Canopy has implemented reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures in an effort to safeguard the personal information in our custody and control. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data retention

Except as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law or regulation, we will only retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services — including for transaction records, legal obligations, dispute resolution and the enforcement of our agreements.

Anonymous and de-identified information

We reserve the right to use anonymous and de-identified data, in accordance with applicable laws, for any legitimate business purpose without further notice to you or your consent.

Individuals under the age of majority

Our websites are not intended for individuals under the age of majority in their province or territory of residence. Any information collected from minors without authorization will be deleted.
